This Needs To Stop

Hi, all.

This may be a bit of an overreaction, but I think it's necessary.

All of the wars that are going on on NMG seem to be getting a bit toxic. I feel like it's disrupting the happy and welcoming sense that NMG has built and still has.

Obviously, I'm not mad at the people doing the war stuff, I know you didn't mean it to be this way, but I think it should come to an end.

I've been told by older members that it has been much worse. Let's make sure it does not reach that point.

GO NEW MOON GIRLS!

Also, I'm sorry if I understood this wrong, it's just my opinion <3

  • I still don’t completely understand how the wars were toxic. Although I was always on the outside because I never really participated, I thought it was all a joke
    • For me it just got boring because they dragged on. One war would start and then as soon as that one ended another one would start and when that one ended someone would revive the first one, and so on. The first two were fun, then, for me, it just got annoying because through writing I couldn’t tell who was joking.
      • the last two were pointless and im sorry because i basically started those wars
        • Nah, don’t worry about it! I totally understand how they were fun, and I even had fun reading through some of the war stuff. The whole things is honestly not a big deal at all <3
    • Everyone’s going to have a different opinion, they affected everyone differently and we’re never all going to agree. I think it’s best that we just let it go, they’re in the past.
      • ^^
To me, they just became old after a while.
      • ^ I agree.
    • It was
      They were funny
      • ^^^^ I didn’t see anything toxic about them, even the newer ones.
        • ^^^^^^^

How to Talk to Your Crush

I have a crush on somebody, and I really like them. I want to tell them that I have a crush on them, but I’m worried they won’t like me back and I won’t even be able to be friends with them. What should I do? -Anonymous Your not alone anon, that’s a fear everyone has when they have crush- and it makes sense! Your admiting your personal feelings to another person, being scared of rejection is completely understandable. First of all, if you’re not already friends with this person, try becoming…

Sleeping Over at a Friend's House

When I get invited to sleepover parties, I always end up wanting to go home before bed. Now that I am a rising 8th grader, I am starting to worry that my friends may find it babyish that I can't spend the night. Any advice? -Anonymous      I’ve had experience with this same problem before! When I used to often have sleepovers with my friends, I’d nearly always call my mom to pick me up when it came time to go to sleep. Eventually, I did start to worry that my friends would look down on me…

Preparing For Your Period

“I feel very unprepared about getting my first period. I don’t know exactly what happens and I am really worried about getting it at school. I wouldn’t want to talk to anyone about it and I don’t feel comfortable talking to my mom about it ahead of time either. Would I be able to just use a wad of toilet paper instead of a pad for a day until I get home and can ask my mom for one? Where would I keep pads after I did get my period if I had it at school? I just feel uninformed and unprepared and…

Ask A Girl: Need advice? Give great advice? We help each other! Ask your questions or answer any of the questions already here. Your post will appear in a day or two, so check back often. We've had many girls ask if their questions can be anonymous, and that is not possible on this website. We want you to know that girls in NMG can trust each other, even with embarrassing questions. And if you want to, you can change your user name to a "not real" name that will then also be used in the magazine if your Ask A Girl question is published.

Letters To Luna: I'm Luna, the spirit of New Moon. Write a letter to me with your opinions and suggestions about the magazine and website. I love to read all your notes! Because I get so many letters, I can't reply online. But a select few letters get published in each issue!

Body & Feelings: Body image, mood swings, puberty, your first period, and so much more! The information girls need!

Check It Out: Share your rants and raves about books, magazines, movies, products, music, ads, tv, internet and more. Love it? Hate it? Let us know!

How Aggravating & Howl at the Moon: Tell us when you see something that's unfair to girls and women -you can vent about it here! And, Howl out your accomplishments and the things that make you proud as a person and a girl!

Love Remembers: Whether it's losing a beloved pet or a cherished person, loss is painful and can be difficult to cope with. But talking about our loved ones and keeping their memories alive can help. Share your beautiful memories here.

Random Stuff: Want a place to be silly, start message board games, or talk about stuff that doesn't fit into the other categories? Then check out this message board!

Role Play: Do you like role playing games? RPG’s are games where players (that’s you!) play the roles of characters in a fictional setting and have all kinds of adventures. See where the stories take you!

Voice Box: We can have different opinions and still be friends and listen respectfully to each other. We're interested to learn about other people's points of view and we don't have to try to convince them to think like we do. This is where we share opinions about issues that are important to us.

Contests & Games: Do you love creating new contests or games for everyone to play? Do you love playing in them? This is the place for you to make your own contests and games and invite everyone to participate! Remember, just like everywhere else on NMGMembers.com, if you make a contest or game, it must be open to everyone who wants to join in!
