sleep

evry night when i'ts time to go to bed i FREAK OUT. i dont know why it just hapens. some times my mom sits with me but that dosent work. I dont kown what to do, please help.

  • I literally had the same thing. I always listen to music that I like and is calming.
  • I know the feeling. A few years I had that exact same problem. What I would always do was take some herbal tinctures, you can find them at many drugstores. Just things that calm you down, maybe drink some chamomile tea. I would read for a while and when you get to bed you should try to think of ONE specific color, (I always use white) and focus on that color until you fall asleep.
  • I'm really sorry about that. I agree with everything Evie said below. Writing things down is something that really helps me. Another thing that might help you is playing soft soothing music at a low volume, so that it helps you relax and calm down, before/while you go to sleep. A couple years ago I went through something similar. It started right after my grandfather died, so I;m pretty sure that was why. I couldn't sleep alone most nights, and I was just genuinely scared that something bad was going to happen. Talking about it definitely helps (I'm not much for talking about my feelings but once I did I felt a lot better).

  • Are you sure there is nothing happening that makes you "freak out"? Is there anything you think about or are scared of? I'm not sure if it's stress related, but you could try writing down anything that is on your mind in a journal or piece of paper. You can write down anything you are stressed or worried about, and write what you will do to help yourself not stress about it any more. (Plan to study for a test tomorrow, talk to a friend about a conflict, etc.) Then it might help get it off your mind. Try to avoid screens before you go to bed- even reading on a device.       A similar thing happens to me--I panic every time I'm getting in the shower, I keep thinking something's watching me (although that's probably the result of too much creepy TV shows xD)
