The Form (please delete the parentheses xD)

Age range (VERY IMPORTANT, as it does not always match its general rating, which is very... not specific... anyway. also please include why you are giving it a specific age range):

Summary (no spoilers please!):

Why did you like it/why would you recommend it?:

Where could one find it? (in theaters, streaming on certain platforms, etc.)

If you would like to discuss with like-minded people, please take it to PM or SophiaSparkle’s All Fandoms Board so as to avoid spoilers. Thank you!

  • Title: My Girl
    Genre: IDK
    General Rating: PG/ PG-13
    Age Range: 10/ 11+
Summary: 11 year old Vada’s mother died when she was born. Her dad works at a funeral home and is getting re-married. It’s mainly about her friendship with her best friend. I would tell more, though I don’t want to give away spoilers. It is very sad, and there is mature language and a tiny bit of swearing.
Why did you like it/ why would you recommend it?: It takes a really good movie to become one of my favourite movies, and this is one of my favourite movies.
Where could one find it?: On Shaw on Demand. You just need to search it. Watch the older PG one.
  • Title: To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

    Genre: rom com

    General rating (G, PG, PG-13, anything else, etc.): I believe it’s PG-13

Age range (VERY IMPORTANT, as it does not always match its general rating, which is very... not specific... anyway. also please include why you are giving it a specific age range): 13+ there is some mature language

Summary (no spoilers please!): Lara Jean (the main character) has had five crushes in her life. Every time she wants to stop having feelings for her crush she writes a detailed letter on why she likes them. After, she addresses the letter and hides it. Then one day they get mailed out and she has no idea until one of her past crushes confronts her.

Why did you like it/why would you recommend it?: THE TEA

Where could one find it? (in theaters, streaming on certain platforms, etc.) Netflix

Other: there’s also a book, you should read that before you watch the movie
    • yesss
    • I saw the trailer for that and it was so funny X'D
  • there should be one of these for shows.
  • Title: Marvel's the Avengers

    Genre: action, superheroes

General rating (G, PG, PG-13, anything else, etc.): PG-13 (for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout)

Age range (VERY IMPORTANT, as it does not always match its general rating, which is very... not specific... anyway. also please include why you are giving it a specific age range): about 9+ for quite a bit of violence.

Summary (no spoilers please!): Nick Fury jr. is assembling a team to fight the Chitari, an alien race led by Loki in attempt to take over the world.

Why did you like it/why would you recommend it?: it is very enjoyable and funny with a lot of action and a really good story. Also, you know MARVEL.

Where could one find it? (in theaters, streaming on certain platforms, etc.) I'll have to look in on this.

    Other: M A R V E L ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

How to Talk to Your Crush

I have a crush on somebody, and I really like them. I want to tell them that I have a crush on them, but I’m worried they won’t like me back and I won’t even be able to be friends with them. What should I do? -Anonymous Your not alone anon, that’s a fear everyone has when they have crush- and it makes sense! Your admiting your personal feelings to another person, being scared of rejection is completely understandable. First of all, if you’re not already friends with this person, try becoming…

Sleeping Over at a Friend's House

When I get invited to sleepover parties, I always end up wanting to go home before bed. Now that I am a rising 8th grader, I am starting to worry that my friends may find it babyish that I can't spend the night. Any advice? -Anonymous      I’ve had experience with this same problem before! When I used to often have sleepovers with my friends, I’d nearly always call my mom to pick me up when it came time to go to sleep. Eventually, I did start to worry that my friends would look down on me…

Preparing For Your Period

“I feel very unprepared about getting my first period. I don’t know exactly what happens and I am really worried about getting it at school. I wouldn’t want to talk to anyone about it and I don’t feel comfortable talking to my mom about it ahead of time either. Would I be able to just use a wad of toilet paper instead of a pad for a day until I get home and can ask my mom for one? Where would I keep pads after I did get my period if I had it at school? I just feel uninformed and unprepared and…

Ask A Girl: Need advice? Give great advice? We help each other! Ask your questions or answer any of the questions already here. Your post will appear in a day or two, so check back often. We've had many girls ask if their questions can be anonymous, and that is not possible on this website. We want you to know that girls in NMG can trust each other, even with embarrassing questions. And if you want to, you can change your user name to a "not real" name that will then also be used in the magazine if your Ask A Girl question is published.

Letters To Luna: I'm Luna, the spirit of New Moon. Write a letter to me with your opinions and suggestions about the magazine and website. I love to read all your notes! Because I get so many letters, I can't reply online. But a select few letters get published in each issue!

Body & Feelings: Body image, mood swings, puberty, your first period, and so much more! The information girls need!

Check It Out: Share your rants and raves about books, magazines, movies, products, music, ads, tv, internet and more. Love it? Hate it? Let us know!

For The Curious: How does stuff in our world happen? Post and ask about experiments, tech, coding, math,  science, engineering, and more!  It's all about the weird, wonderful, and wacky! Be curious and be surprised.

Go Girls & Women Change the World: Amazing girls and women make the world a better place every day. Tell us about who you admire - now and from the past.  These don't have to be people who are already famous!

How Aggravating & Howl at the Moon: Tell us when you see something that's unfair to girls and women -you can vent about it here! And, Howl out your accomplishments and the things that make you proud as a person and a girl!

Love Remembers: Whether it's losing a beloved pet or a cherished person, loss is painful and can be difficult to cope with. But talking about our loved ones and keeping their memories alive can help. Share your beautiful memories here.

Random Stuff: Want a place to be silly, start message board games, or talk about stuff that doesn't fit into the other categories? Then check out this message board!

Role Play: Do you like role playing games? RPG’s are games where players (that’s you!) play the roles of characters in a fictional setting and have all kinds of adventures. See where the stories take you!

Voice Box: We can have different opinions and still be friends and listen respectfully to each other. We're interested to learn about other people's points of view and we don't have to try to convince them to think like we do. This is where we share opinions about issues that are important to us.

Contests & Games: Do you love creating new contests or games for everyone to play? Do you love playing in them? This is the place for you to make your own contests and games and invite everyone to participate! Remember, just like everywhere else on, if you make a contest or game, it must be open to everyone who wants to join in!
