Why I chose to go vegan :)

Hi wonderful people :) !

This is a board about  our meat and animal production and consumption.

I have been a  vegitarian for a long time, but I figured it really makes sense to go all the way and be vegan (vegitarian means not eating meat and vegan means not eating any animal products, so for example no eggs, milk, cheese).

Don't get me wrong, being a vegitarian is great and also a good start, if you want to become vegan.

But what I'm trying to say, being a vegitarian doesn't mean not killing animals with the way you eat for example (for organic food it's a little different, but still not perfect).

If you drink milk or eat eggs, you're probably getting them from companies that slaughter baby calves and male chicks because that is cheaper than raising animals that can't produce milk and eggs when they grow up.

Please look it up, because it's really terrible and you may not want to support all of this.

For me the best option was to drasticlly go vegan also, and being vegan is not unhealthy ! You can get the protein and carbs and basically everything you need from other food, too, it's really not that hard. If you want tips and tricks (or recipes) on how to do that - let me know!

Hope this was interesting to you :)

  • Also, are you maybe already vegan or vegetarian or maybe gluten free ? I would be interested in your experience with that!
  • ( I'm sorry if this text sounds commanding in any way it's not meant like that of course everyone should eat how they like :)

  • I like meat but only to add flavor to stuff. My family will get meat a5 a restaurant to share all around and I don’t want any because I don’t like straight meat or lots of meat.
  • I don't think I would be able to go vegan, or even vegetarian. We eat sooo much meat and dairy in my family.
  • I’m vegan too! How long have you been vegan for?
  • I am not vegan or vegetarian, but I do not drink milk and when my family gets meat, eggs, or milk, we get it from a place that does not hurt animals.
    • ^^^^^^^^^^^
I don't like dairy for some reason.
  • I just want to put it out there, that if you find a nice little family farm to get milk from, they most likely will not kill calves to get the milk. I do not mean to offend anyone, I just wanted to make that clear.
    • Yeah, totally:)
  • I’m not vegan (I was vegetarian, but had to stop), but I want to say that if you are vegan, please eat honey!
  • I'm pescatarian, which means I am basically vegetarian, except I eat fish. The rest of my family eats meat, but it's all from farms that treat their animals well (ie. Non-factory farms)
  • I'm vegiterian and my family gets all our animal products from places that treat the animals well. I would go vegan exept for the fact that I'm already not making very good choices with what I eat and being vegan would mean I can't eat eggs which is my main source of protein.

Preparing For Your Period

“I feel very unprepared about getting my first period. I don’t know exactly what happens and I am really worried about getting it at school. I wouldn’t want to talk to anyone about it and I don’t feel comfortable talking to my mom about it ahead of time either. Would I be able to just use a wad of toilet paper instead of a pad for a day until I get home and can ask my mom for one? Where would I keep pads after I did get my period if I had it at school? I just feel uninformed and unprepared and…

Redesigning Characters

"Do you have any advice on redesigning characters? I have an old one I want to polish up and I'm not sure how to go about it." -Willa While I don’t have a lot of experience redesigning characters visually, I have a bit more experience with reworking characters that I’ve created in pieces of writing. After thinking about your question a little, I think that both crafts tend to come down to the same core pieces, so hopefully my advice will help you out whether you’re looking to work on visual…

Too Much To Do

“Yesterday I felt overwhelmed because I had more to do than I was used to (Lots of homework, after school activities and dinner). Do you have any tips for girls to feel less overwhelmed when they have a lot to do?”  - Anonymous Feeling overwhelmed by long to-do lists is a very common experience, especially as we get older and start taking on more responsibilities and commitments, have more time-consuming homework, etc.—so you are far from alone in this. (It’s certainly something I’ve had to…

Not a People Person

"Okay i am going to very very clear...I need advice from someone older than me. I am not very much a people person like I don't talk much around other people how would you say I deal with this?" - Anonymous Hi! I’m not very much of a “people person” myself, and am generally very shy and quiet in social settings, so I definitely understand this. As I know firsthand, it can be hard being less socially inclined than those around us… but I’m actually going to start by suggesting that, contrary to…
