Contacting NMG Staff

Have a question, comment, concern, or suggestion? Want to contact a staff member at NMG for any reason?

You've come to the right place! Below, you'll find the names, profile page links, and brief role descriptions for each staff member.

Chief Executive Officer

Nancy

In addition to being the CEO, Nancy is also NMG's Founder—the woman who started it all! Because she handles so many other things, Nancy can't log in to the online community very often, but when she does she always reads and responds to PMs.

Online Community Manager

Sarah

Yeah, that's me. If you have a question or comment about our Member Rules & Responsibilities, using the website, or anything else, please feel free to contact me any time! I'm on here regularly and will always answer to the best of my ability—and can also pass messages along to other staff members, if/when applicable.

Joe

Aside from online community management, Joe also does tons of other stuff behind the scenes—and founded NMG along with Nancy! The man does it all. Since we share the OCM role, there's a decent chance that questions sent to me will find their way to him as well, or you can PM him directly.

Editor

Helen

The single-handed supershero who compiles, designs, and edits NMG magazine every two months. Messages related to the magazine? Helen is your lady!

Contributing Editor/Book Coordinator

Lacey

Lacey is an editor and writer who (in her own words) "coordinates book-related goodies" for NMG. Check out Luna's Reading Corner for monthly reading recommendations, and for awesome author interviews podcast she runs! Contact Lacey if you're interested in being a co-host for a podcast episode, or with anything else related to Luna's Reading Corner.

Intern

Valentina

Maybe not technically staff, but this super person helps out with all kinds of things and does a super job of it. Along with me and Joe, she can also help with questions related to the online community. Valentina is online here regularly, so should see PMs fairly quickly most of the time.

Other

Note also psychotherapist Jill, who answers questions and provides advice about dealing with any of the many life issues and stressors that you may encounter, the mentoring Sister to Sister team, and all our fabulous moderators, who review and approve posts on NMG and are instrumental in keeping this site the safe, healthy, happy community it is. <3

So there you have it! And you/your parents can always get in touch with NMG via our Contact Us form, if you would like.

Looking forward to hearing from you. ;)

You need to be a member of NMG Members to add comments!

Preparing For Your Period

“I feel very unprepared about getting my first period. I don’t know exactly what happens and I am really worried about getting it at school. I wouldn’t want to talk to anyone about it and I don’t feel comfortable talking to my mom about it ahead of time either. Would I be able to just use a wad of toilet paper instead of a pad for a day until I get home and can ask my mom for one? Where would I keep pads after I did get my period if I had it at school? I just feel uninformed and unprepared and…

Redesigning Characters

"Do you have any advice on redesigning characters? I have an old one I want to polish up and I'm not sure how to go about it." -Willa While I don’t have a lot of experience redesigning characters visually, I have a bit more experience with reworking characters that I’ve created in pieces of writing. After thinking about your question a little, I think that both crafts tend to come down to the same core pieces, so hopefully my advice will help you out whether you’re looking to work on visual…

Too Much To Do

“Yesterday I felt overwhelmed because I had more to do than I was used to (Lots of homework, after school activities and dinner). Do you have any tips for girls to feel less overwhelmed when they have a lot to do?”  - Anonymous Feeling overwhelmed by long to-do lists is a very common experience, especially as we get older and start taking on more responsibilities and commitments, have more time-consuming homework, etc.—so you are far from alone in this. (It’s certainly something I’ve had to…

Not a People Person

"Okay i am going to very very clear...I need advice from someone older than me. I am not very much a people person like I don't talk much around other people how would you say I deal with this?" - Anonymous Hi! I’m not very much of a “people person” myself, and am generally very shy and quiet in social settings, so I definitely understand this. As I know firsthand, it can be hard being less socially inclined than those around us… but I’m actually going to start by suggesting that, contrary to…

Ask A Girl: Need advice? Give great advice? We help each other! Ask your questions or answer any of the questions already here. Your post will appear in a day or two, so check back often. We've had many girls ask if their questions can be anonymous, and that is not possible on this website. We want you to know that girls in NMG can trust each other, even with embarrassing questions. And if you want to, you can change your user name to a "not real" name that will then also be used in the magazine if your Ask A Girl question is published.

Letters To Luna: I'm Luna, the spirit of New Moon. Write a letter to me with your opinions and suggestions about the magazine and website. I love to read all your notes! Because I get so many letters, I can't reply online. But a select few letters get published in each issue!

Body & Feelings: Body image, mood swings, puberty, your first period, and so much more! The information girls need!

Check It Out: Share your rants and raves about books, magazines, movies, products, music, ads, tv, internet and more. Love it? Hate it? Let us know!

For The Curious: How does stuff in our world happen? Post and ask about experiments, tech, coding, math,  science, engineering, and more!  It's all about the weird, wonderful, and wacky! Be curious and be surprised.

Go Girls & Women Change the World: Amazing girls and women make the world a better place every day. Tell us about who you admire - now and from the past.  These don't have to be people who are already famous!

How Aggravating & Howl at the Moon: Tell us when you see something that's unfair to girls and women -you can vent about it here! And, Howl out your accomplishments and the things that make you proud as a person and a girl!

Love Remembers: Whether it's losing a beloved pet or a cherished person, loss is painful and can be difficult to cope with. But talking about our loved ones and keeping their memories alive can help. Share your beautiful memories here.

Random Stuff: Want a place to be silly, start message board games, or talk about stuff that doesn't fit into the other categories? Then check out this message board!

Role Play: Do you like role playing games? RPG’s are games where players (that’s you!) play the roles of characters in a fictional setting and have all kinds of adventures. See where the stories take you!

Voice Box: We can have different opinions and still be friends and listen respectfully to each other. We're interested to learn about other people's points of view and we don't have to try to convince them to think like we do. This is where we share opinions about issues that are important to us.

Contests & Games: Do you love creating new contests or games for everyone to play? Do you love playing in them? This is the place for you to make your own contests and games and invite everyone to participate! Remember, just like everywhere else on NMGMembers.com, if you make a contest or game, it must be open to everyone who wants to join in!
